Raynham, MA, October 7, 2003 — Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture will host an educational outreach event for families on how to use the Internet safely at its new Raynham store on Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  This event is being co-sponsored by FOX 25 television and I-Safe, a national Internet safety education foundation.

Bernie and Phyllis (Phyl) Rubin will be there in person to join with local political and law enforcement officials and FOX 25 personalities, including anchor Maria Stephanos, to teach parents and kids techniques for achieving a safer online experience.

For parents, there will be an education table with an interactive presentation and informational materials.  For children, student mentors will staff a booth to encourage other youth to become more familiar with Internet safety and to share this knowledge with their school and community.

“We are happy to have the space to host this worthwhile family event,” said Bernie Rubin, co-founder and president of Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture.  “The Internet offers many wonderful opportunities, as well as dangers, for parents and kids, and it’s important for families to learn how to stay safe.”
