Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture Thanked by Teen Challenge New England

Norton, MA, August 28, 2003 — Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture was recently thanked by Teen Challenge New England, of Brockton, for donating nearly $800,000 worth of furniture to the organization over the past three years. Teen Challenge sells the donated goods through its thrift store to help support youth and adults with life controlling addictions become established in society through mentoring, counseling, education and job training.
Teen Challenge, which also runs a catering business used for vocational training purposes, prepared a luncheon for over 100 employees at Bernie & Phyl’s Norton headquarters, where Richard Longo, Teen Challenge catering coordinator (second left), presented a plaque to Bernie Rubin, Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture’s founder (center). Norton employees Elizabeth Xavier (far left) and Diane Fitzgerald and Bob Pepe (right) looked on.
